There are no official data on the practice of female genital cutting (FGC) in Singapore. However, the prevalence of the practice is estimated to be between 75% and 85% of women in the Malay and Dawoodi Bohra communities. End FGC Singapore (EFS) (https://www.endfgcsg.com/) is an initiative that works from the ground level up. It conducted a survey of 360 women in 2020, to which 275 women responded that they believe they underwent FGC. Further analysis has not been published yet, although interim results are available at https://www.instagram.com/p/CP0OSZzBQE3/. This Short Report draws on those interim results, where relevant.
